Glendale police say a shooting in a residential neighborhood just east of State Farm Stadium left three people injured in the predawn hours Monday. Officers responded at about 2:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire near 91st Avenue and Cardinals Way after calls to emergency dispatchers, and investigators later confirmed three people were shot and transported to area hospitals. Police said the victims were expected to survive.

The shooting occurred in a neighborhood immediately east of the Loop 101 and the stadium complex, an area with a mix of residences and nearby entertainment venues. Officers established a perimeter through the early morning, and investigators worked on scene to determine what led to the shooting and to document the area where the incident took place. City emergency responders and patrol units remained at the location as the initial investigation unfolded.

Investigators and eyewitnesses were visible along the block, with police tape restricting access to the immediate scene while officers interviewed several people who were in the area. The presence of uniformed personnel and marked vehicles contributed to an active-looking scene as detectives and patrol officers sought information from those who may have observed the events prior to or during the shooting. Authorities said they were still trying to develop a possible description of the suspect and any vehicle involved.

Police confirmed the person or persons who fired shots left the scene before officers arrived and remained at large. Glendale law enforcement officials described a search for the suspect as ongoing and said they had not yet released a detailed description of the individual or any vehicle tied to the case as they continued to gather information from witnesses and review whatever evidence was recoverable at the scene.

Officials stressed there was no broader threat to the public tied to the incident. Despite that assurance, authorities asked local residents and drivers to avoid the immediate area around 91st Avenue and Cardinals Way while investigators maintained the scene and conducted their work. The presence of crime scene tape and blocked roadways affected access to some streets in the neighborhood during the morning.

The three victims were taken to hospitals for treatment. Law enforcement sources on scene said the injured were expected to survive their wounds; no further medical details about their conditions or identities were released as the investigation remained active. Police did not provide information on a possible motive for the shooting or whether the victims were known to one another.

At the time officers were gathering evidence and seeking additional information from potential witnesses, the search for the suspect continued. Detectives remained at the scene into the morning hours as they pursued leads and worked to identify and locate the person responsible. Residents were asked to remain alert to any updates from police as the inquiry proceeded, and authorities continued to coordinate their efforts to understand the sequence of events that produced the early-morning violence.

The investigation is ongoing. Police reiterated that anyone with information relevant to the case should contact Glendale law enforcement through the appropriate channels, and investigators said they would release additional details as they became available and as the case developed further.

New surveillance video obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix captured the exact moments the three victims were shot while checking an electrical box outside a Glendale home. It allowed police to describe the suspect as a male in dark clothing and a hat, though he remains at large with no arrests and the investigation ongoing.
