Spinato’s to Open First Goodyear Restaurant, Moves North Phoenix Location to New Bell Road Site

Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen is expanding into the West Valley with a new Goodyear restaurant slated to open in late 2027, while relocating its north Phoenix operation to a larger Bell Road address that will open July 14. The company signed a lease for ground-up construction at GSQ-Goodyear Civic Square and says the move will add dozens of jobs and modern dining amenities across its locations.

Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen announced plans this week to expand westward by building a new restaurant in Goodyear and to relocate its north Phoenix outlet into a larger, updated space on Bell Road. The Valley-born chain, which began in 1974 and is family- and employee-owned, has grown its footprint across the Phoenix metro area over the decades and operates concessions inside major local sports venues. The two moves mark a simultaneous push to reach West Valley customers while upgrading operations on the north side of the city.

The Goodyear site will be a ground-up construction project at GSQ-Goodyear Civic Square, positioned at the northwest corner of 150th Drive and McDowell Road. The company signed a lease with Globe Corporation for the development, and work on the project is already underway. Developers expect to hand over the finished shell to Spinato’s in May 2027, allowing the pizzeria time to complete interior build-out and prepare for a grand opening targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Company leaders said the new Goodyear restaurant responds to longstanding requests from West Valley residents for a closer Spinato’s location. Spinato’s described the civic square’s atmosphere as a good fit for the brand’s next metro Phoenix outpost and projected that the new location will create between 75 and 95 full- and part-time positions for the local community. The expansion will become the company’s seventh restaurant in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Goodyear city officials framed the announcement as part of a broader effort to build out GSQ as a central downtown hub. City leaders have actively courted retail and dining concepts for the civic square, and the arrival of a locally recognized restaurant chain was highlighted as evidence of momentum in the area’s downtown development. Local officials noted that Spinato’s was among the concepts most frequently requested by residents in municipal retail surveys.

On the north side of Phoenix, Spinato’s has already completed a move to a new physical address designed to support its expanded menu and updated service model. The relocated north Phoenix restaurant is set to open Tuesday, July 14, at 1107 E. Bell Road, near the intersection of 7th Street and Bell Road. That new Bell Road site replaces an older facility that first opened in 1993 and that the company said did not have the kitchen infrastructure required to prepare the full range of modern menu items the brand now offers.

The Bell Road location includes multiple guest-focused upgrades intended to broaden Spinato’s offerings and accommodate larger groups. Interior changes include expanded dining capacity and a private room for events or gatherings. The site also features an indoor-outdoor bar that will serve a full spirits menu and an enclosed, climate-controlled patio designed to provide additional seating options across seasons. To mark the transition from the previous 1993 location, the Bell Road restaurant will debut a specialty offering called the "Saved by the Bell" margherita cocktail.

Spinato’s has built a reputation in the region for its Chicago-style thin-crust pizzas and for partnerships with major local sports franchises. The company serves as the official pizza supplier for the Phoenix Suns, the Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Cardinals, with concessions operations inside downtown’s Mortgage Matchup Center and at Glendale’s State Farm Stadium. The chain emphasized that expanded kitchen capability and updated dining facilities are part of continuing efforts to support its growing presence at sports venues and its full-service restaurant locations.

In addition to the new physical locations and upgraded facilities, Spinato’s announced extended kitchen hours at all of its restaurants. The chain will remain closed on Mondays, but will operate Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., while Friday and Saturday hours extend until 10 p.m. Management said the changes in hours are intended to better match customer demand and to provide more consistent service across the brand’s footprint.

The company framed the moves as both a response to customer interest and a step toward strengthening its role in community dining and entertainment. Officials said construction timing, staffing forecasts and operational changes are all being coordinated to align the Goodyear opening and the north Phoenix relocation with seasonal demand and local development timelines. The Goodyear project is scheduled to see the building shell handed to Spinato’s in May 2027, with an interior fit-out and staff hiring process planned ahead of a late-2027 opening, while the Bell Road restaurant will begin welcoming guests in mid-July of this year.

Spinato’s expansion into Goodyear and the simultaneous relocation of its north Phoenix restaurant represent the company’s latest moves in a multi-decade run as a locally rooted dining brand. The company’s continued development of full-service restaurant experiences, concessions partnerships and extended service hours aims to broaden its reach across the Valley without altering the brand’s established menu identity. The company did not provide further specifics on menu changes beyond the specialty margherita cocktail tied to the Bell Road opening, nor did it release additional details about the Goodyear site beyond the lease, construction timetable and projected job creation figures.

Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo called Spinato’s a well-loved Arizona brand and one of the most requested by residents, underscoring the momentum for quality dining in the growing downtown. Globe Corp.’s George Getz added that his family’s 1970 purchase of the property aligned with shared values in welcoming the pizzeria to the walkable GSQ mixed-use development. GSQ-Goodyear is being developed by Globe Corporation in partnership with RED Development as part of a larger, roughly 150-acre mixed-use downtown district; infrastructure work (including the Goodyear Way connector) is already underway to link the civic square to the broader development.

The city’s GSQ announcement lists multiple confirmed and planned retailers and restaurants that will share the district with Spinato’s, including Trader Joe’s, First Watch, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Banner Health, Avila University Arizona, Spaces and several national and regional food concepts and service tenants announced for 2026–2027.

The downtown arena where Spinato’s operates concessions was renamed the Mortgage Matchup Center under a naming-rights agreement with United Wholesale Mortgage valued at roughly $115 million over ten years.

Spinato’s own website currently lists six Valley restaurant locations (Tempe — 96 S. Rockford Dr.; North Phoenix — 1614 E. Bell Rd. #104; Central Phoenix — 5509 N. 7th St.; Gilbert — 3150 E. Ray Rd. #128; Scottsdale — 9210 E. Via de Ventura #100; Ahwatukee — 4848 E. Chandler Blvd.), confirming the Goodyear site will be the chain’s seventh metro‑Phoenix location.

The new north Phoenix Bell Road site at 1107 E. Bell Rd. is in the Bell Embarcadero retail center (a neighborhood center with about 39,972 square feet of leasable space anchored by tenants including Optum and Bridgestone), and the relocated Bell Road restaurant is scheduled to begin welcoming guests on July 14, 2026.
