A three-vehicle collision on State Route 74 near Lake Pleasant in Peoria on May 15 resulted in one death and three people taken to area hospitals. The crash occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m. near milepost 23, close to New River Road.
Peoria police officers who responded to the scene say a vehicle traveling westbound on SR 74 crossed left of center and struck two eastbound vehicles. Early findings indicate impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
Fire and emergency medical crews transported three people to local hospitals for treatment. An 81-year-old man from Chandler, identified as Daniel Cohn, sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced deceased at a hospital.
Visual evidence from the scene showed extensive damage to the vehicles involved, with at least four people involved in the collision.
