A man was rushed to a hospital with life‑threatening injuries early Saturday after being hit by a vehicle in the Maryvale neighborhood of Phoenix. The collision occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in the vicinity of 67th Avenue and Indian School Road, and investigators say the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time he was struck.

Phoenix police responded to the report just before 3 a.m. and found the injured man at the scene. First responders provided emergency care and transported the victim to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. Authorities have not released the man’s name or additional personal details as the investigation is ongoing and family notification procedures are under way.

Investigators with the Phoenix Police Department have said the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. No arrest has been reported in connection with the crash, and police have not identified any charges stemming from the incident. Officers continue to piece together the sequence of events that led to the pedestrian being struck.

The intersection where the collision occurred was blocked as investigators worked on the scene, with patrol vehicles, barricades and crime‑scene tape in place while evidence was gathered. Officers conducted on‑scene interviews and examinations of the roadway to document vehicle positions and any physical evidence, an investigative process that can take several hours depending on conditions and the need for specialized units.

Saturday’s crash marks the third serious pedestrian collision in Phoenix in a 48‑hour span. On Friday morning, a separate incident resulted in a pedestrian fatality after the person was struck by a tow truck near 7th Street and Thomas Road. That earlier collision drew emergency crews and investigators to the area and ultimately ended with the pedestrian pronounced dead.

Just over an hour after the tow‑truck crash on Friday, a second fatal pedestrian collision occurred when another man was struck near 15th Avenue and Clarendon. Authorities reported that the person hit in that case did not survive. In both of those Friday incidents, police said the drivers involved remained at the scene and spoke with investigators as officers examined the circumstances of each collision.

Phoenix police say they are continuing to gather evidence and additional information about Saturday’s Maryvale crash. The investigation remains active as officers work to reconstruct what happened and determine whether any further action will be taken. No further details have been released pending the outcome of that investigative work.
