Armando Rubio Seeks Emergency Travel Visa After Daughter Hannah Is Airlifted to Phoenix

Reality television personality Armando Rubio announced an urgent effort to secure a medical emergency travel visa after his 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, was airlifted to a hospital in Phoenix. Rubio, who lives in Mexico with his husband Kenny Niedermeier and Hannah, posted on Instagram seeking assistance from Mexican consular officials and U.S. border authorities as he tried to reach his daughter.

Armando Rubio, known for his appearances on 90 Day Fiancé, made an urgent public appeal after his 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, experienced a sudden medical emergency and was airlifted to a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Rubio — who lives in Mexico with Hannah and his husband, Kenny Niedermeier — went to social media late Tuesday to ask followers for help obtaining a medical emergency travel visa so he could cross the border and be with his daughter.

In the Instagram caption Rubio described the situation as an "urgent matter" and appealed directly to followers who might have connections at Mexican embassies or consulates. He expanded that request to include anyone with ties to U.S. Customs and Border Protection working at any Baja California port of entry. He provided an email address — kennyandarmando@gmail.com — for people to contact if they could help facilitate the emergency travel arrangements.

Rubio’s account, which has hundreds of thousands of followers, drew immediate interaction. In the thread a follower supplied information on how Rubio — who is not a U.S. citizen — could pursue the type of travel authorization he sought. Rubio later replied in that comment thread, saying that advice had been successful and that hospital staff had produced a letter he needed to attempt to travel across the border. At that moment Rubio wrote he was about two hours from the border and en route, and asked for prayers for Hannah while she was being airlifted to Phoenix.

The initial posting garnered thousands of reactions and a long string of comments from followers. Rubio also used a follow-up social post the next day to update supporters. He prefaced his update by acknowledging his emotional state, telling followers his "head's all over the place" and noting he hoped the details he was about to share would "make sense." He also expressed gratitude to those who had sent kind words and prayers for Hannah.

In that subsequent message Rubio explained one of the obstacles he encountered while trying to travel: he had gone to the border to determine whether a humanitarian visa might be issued at a port of entry, only to be told that such visas are no longer issued at ports of entry as of two years ago. He said that avenue therefore failed, complicating his attempt to cross into the United States on short notice.

Rubio also described the onset of Hannah’s medical emergency in his own words. He said he was at his shop when he received a call from Hannah, who was at his parents’ house at the time. According to Rubio’s account, she called crying and said she was not feeling well. When he arrived at his parents’ residence he noticed symptoms that included a drooping on one side of her face, weakness in one side of her body and a lack of strength around her lips, which prompted immediate concern and medical attention.

Beyond those details Rubio’s posts conveyed the urgency of the family’s efforts to get Hannah the specialized care she needed. He confirmed that the teen was being transported by air to Phoenix and that he was attempting to arrange entry into the United States so he could join her at the hospital. Rubio’s public messages emphasized the combination of rapid medical response for his daughter and the logistical difficulties faced by non-U.S. citizens trying to cross a border in the midst of an emergency.

As of his latest public update, Rubio continued to communicate with followers, sharing updates from his perspective and thanking those who reached out. He identified his husband by name — Kenny Niedermeier — and indicated the family was coordinating around the emergency as best they could given the border restrictions he described. No additional medical details beyond the symptoms Rubio relayed were provided in his public posts, and he repeatedly asked for prayers for Hannah as the family navigated the unfolding situation.

In a follow-up Instagram reel reported by The Ashley's Reality Roundup and Complex, Armando revealed that scans at the Yuma hospital found bleeding on Hannah's brain, calling it a neurological issue doctors do not yet fully understand. She remains in the ICU in Phoenix as he continues navigating border entry. Fans continue sharing prayers and support.

Federal agencies have, since 2024–2025, sharply limited the practice of granting on-the-spot humanitarian parole at land ports of entry and have wound down several broad parole programs; as a result, Customs and Border Protection officers have less discretionary authority to admit noncitizens at crossing points for emergency humanitarian reasons than they did a few years ago.

Families seeking emergency entry for medical care usually must pursue either an emergency medical (B‑2) visa through a U.S. consulate or a case-by-case humanitarian parole request filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; both pathways generally require hospital letters, medical records and confirmation from a U.S. medical provider willing to treat the patient, and approvals are discretionary and can take time.
