Pine Canyon Golf Club, the private residential course set among ponderosa pines just south of Flagstaff, has begun offering on-demand charter flights that will ferry golfers from the Valley and beyond to its mountain foothills. The program is the result of a partnership with a private aviation operator that can deliver members and their guests directly to the Flagstaff area, cutting travel time dramatically and allowing visitors to spend more of their day on the course.
The charter option replaces a drive that can take roughly two hours from the greater Phoenix region with a flight of about 30 minutes from Scottsdale Airport. Operators in the new program also run departures from Las Vegas and southern California, giving members multiple gateway options. Flights are available on short notice — bookable with 48 hours' advance notice — and the fleet available ranges from turboprop models such as the King Air 350i to long-range jets including the Global 5000.
Pine Canyon is an exclusive private club that opened in 2004 and was routed through the high-elevation pine country by designer Jay Morrish. The property is regularly ranked among the top private courses in Arizona and holds a national standing among residential golf layouts. The course winds through tree-lined hills, and several holes afford sweeping views of Humphreys Peak, the state’s tallest summit at 12,637 feet.
The elevation of the Flagstaff area — roughly 7,000 feet above sea level — is part of the club’s appeal, offering players a distinct feel off the tee that comes with thinner air. From the back tees the course measures 7,265 yards, and members point to a number of signature holes that showcase both the routing and the surrounding landscape.

One of the club’s most-talked-about features is a short, 100-yard par-3 known as the 19th hole, or "Double or Nothin'," which plays to an island green. The shot is visible from the men’s locker room patio and the clubhouse dining veranda and has become a staple during social gatherings, club tournaments and closest-to-the-pin competitions. The clubhouse vantage points create a natural amphitheater for members enjoying events that center on that dramatic finishing test.
The property also contains a notable, weathered Ponderosa pine that fronts the 14th green and has lost many of its needles over time, leaving a skeletal silhouette that remains a landmark for players. At the top of that tree, an osprey nest has taken hold, adding a touch of local wildlife to the course environment.
The charter flights were described by the club's developer as an effort to enhance the member experience by saving time and making day trips more practical. "At Pine Canyon, we’re focused on delivering a best-in-class member experience," Todd Severson, managing partner at Symmetry Companies, said in a news release. "This offering is centered around what our members value most — their time. By introducing private aviation, we’re making it easier to get here and spend more time enjoying everything Pine Canyon has to offer."

The club invested in course improvements in recent years as well: a renovation completed two years ago topped more than $6 million. That work, combined with the new travel option, marks the latest phase in Pine Canyon’s efforts to sharpen its appeal to current members and prospective buyers in the surrounding residential community. The aviation service is intended to dovetail with the club’s amenities and the property’s reputation as a high-elevation playing environment where views, layout and a compact travel window are part of the draw.
The Pine Canyon-PrismJet arrangement expands access for members who prioritize efficiency, and it places the club among a growing number of private golf communities offering bespoke travel options. With the ability to launch from multiple departure points and select from a range of aircraft, the service provides a direct link that transforms what once was a long drive into a short flight and more time on the course.
