A Pima County Superior Court judge on May 11 sentenced Christina Eileen Gonzalez to 14 and a half years in prison after prosecutors determined she operated a criminal enterprise that trafficked in illegal drugs, explosive devices and a firearm. Court records indicate the activity attributed to Gonzalez occurred during August 2025 and included the sale of multiple controlled substances alongside weaponry described by authorities as land‑mine style explosives.

Investigators said Gonzalez’s operation involved distribution of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, and that the explosive devices offered for sale were identified as “Bouncing Betty” style land mines. Authorities also reported the sale of a firearm connected to the enterprise. The scope of the alleged activity prompted law enforcement to seek and obtain a search warrant for Gonzalez’s residence, where personnel say they recovered quantities of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, in addition to several firearms.

Gonzalez entered guilty pleas to multiple counts before the sentencing. The convictions include attempted transportation for sale of a narcotic drug, a Class 3 felony; attempted money laundering, a Class 5 felony; and illegally conducting an enterprise, a Class 3 felony. Those pleas formed the basis for the 14.5‑year custodial term imposed by the court.

Prosecutors said the criminal enterprise was active throughout August 2025 and involved the sale and attempted sale of the listed items. Court filings reflect that the investigation led to the execution of search warrants and subsequent seizures at Gonzalez’s residence, a key element cited during the prosecution and at sentencing.

The trafficking counts carry significant penalties under state law, and the combination of narcotics, firearms and explosive devices weighed into the charges lodged against Gonzalez. The case as adjudicated in Pima County Superior Court concluded the criminal prosecution with the sentencing that was handed down on May 11.

No additional details about victim involvement, buyer identities or the origin of the explosives were released in the court documents filed with the case, and the sentencing order focused on the charges to which Gonzalez pleaded guilty. The multiple felonies recorded in the docket reflect the varied nature of the enterprise prosecutors described, from narcotics distribution to financial transactions alleged to be tied to efforts to conceal proceeds.

Gonzalez’s sentence of 14 and a half years was the final court action recorded in the matter as part of the criminal case docket. The record shows the convictions stemming directly from her guilty pleas to attempted transportation for sale of a narcotic drug, attempted money laundering and illegally conducting an enterprise, and the custodial term imposed by the Pima County Superior Court follows those admissions of guilt.
