Taylor Acton noticed his navy Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt regularly sparked quick conversations with strangers, but those exchanges rarely turned into organized game gatherings.

He launched Fancav.com this month, a free platform designed to help sports fans in Phoenix find or organize local watch parties as baseball and fall football seasons begin.

Acton drew on business and product experience—an accounting degree, an ASU MBA and 12 years at Alaska Airlines—to identify the user need and guide the product vision.

Without a traditional engineering team, he used AI coding assistants such as Claude and Cursor to translate his vision into a working app, completing the initial build in about six months.

Fancav’s core features let users create and search watch‑party listings and let venues advertise events; the Phoenix beta is free for individuals and businesses to collect feedback.

The platform includes safety and privacy measures: one‑time Stripe Identity checks, addresses revealed 24 hours before events, names hidden from other users, RSVP controls, attendance tracking and loyalty tiers with guest caps.
