Dillon Brooks signed a three-year, $73 million extension with the Phoenix Suns that will keep him in Phoenix through the 2029–30 season. The deal begins with the 2027–28 season after his final guaranteed 2026–27 year.
The extension pays roughly $24.3 million per season from 2027–28 through 2029–30, locking Brooks in as a veteran presence on a Suns roster that emphasized continuity during a relatively quiet offseason.
Phoenix re-signed role players Collin Gillespie, Mark Williams and Jordan Goodwin and added Miles Bridges and Luke Kennard, signaling a front-office preference to preserve the core rather than pursue a major overhaul.
Brooks moved into a more prominent role last season, averaging 20.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals across 56 games, and earned a reputation as a perimeter defender tasked with guarding opponents’ primary scorers.
The Suns went 45–37 and reached the playoffs as the No. 7 seed before a first-round exit to Oklahoma City. Brooks missed 18 games with a fractured left hand but averaged 26 points in the postseason while Phoenix’s defense improved markedly.
Phoenix framed the extension as part of a strategy to preserve chemistry and competitiveness: at 30, Brooks is expected to provide scoring, defensive toughness and leadership alongside Devin Booker and the team’s new additions.
