City planners approved a preliminary site plan for Acacia Affordable Housing, a proposed 20-unit affordable apartment building to be located immediately north of Phoenix’s Acacia Branch Library.
The project is planned for a long-vacant 0.58-acre parcel just northwest of Eighth Street and Townley Avenue, directly adjacent to the library at 750 E. Townley Ave.
Plans filed with the city describe a single, three-story building containing 20 residential units on the compact site, identified in the application as Acacia Affordable Housing.
Property owner Footprint Properties LLC sought city approvals and received preliminary site plan approval on July 6, clearing an early step needed to advance design and permitting.
Aerial mapping and assessor records included in the submission outline the parcel boundaries and illustrate the proposed building’s close relationship to the library grounds and nearby streets.
The site is listed as 8910 N. 8th St. (APN 160-03-077C), about 25,132 sq ft (0.58 acres), marketed near $580,000, zoned R-4 and shown in listings as a three-story, 20-unit concept; brokers note existing entitlements shorten pre-construction timing.
